EU Follows Situation In Sudan, Delegation In African Country Continues Work - Spokeswoman

The European Union is following closely the situation in Sudan, its delegation on the ground is carrying on with its work, Spokesperson for EU Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Maja Kocijancic said Thursday
MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 11th April, 2019) The European Union is following closely the situation in Sudan, its delegation on the ground is carrying on with its work, Spokesperson for EU Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Maja Kocijancic said Thursday.
Earlier in the day, media reported that the Sudanese army had decided at an emergency meeting to oust President Omar Bashir from all positions and sack the country's cabinet ministers following months of anti-government protests. A briefing from the Sudanese Defense Ministry on the situation in the country is expected soon, according to the country's broadcasters.
"We are closely monitoring the situation and follow the developments on the ground ... Our delegation on the ground continues to do its work," Kocijancic told reporters.
The diplomatic service's spokeswoman added that the European Union was calling on all parties "to refrain from any violence" and reiterated EU call for a" peaceful, credible, legitimate and inclusive political process."
