PARIS (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 23rd April, 2019) A huge fire broke out on Tuesday in the French city of Versailles, known for the world famous Palace of Versailles, which is a UNESCO-designated site, local police said on Tuesday.

"Fire underway at Parc de Cagny in Versailles, please, avoid the area until the end of emergency [work]," local police department said on Twitter.

The incident took place eight days after a destructive blaze engulfed the would renowned Notre Dame cathedral. The building was heavily damaged in the blaze, with two thirds of the cathedral's wooden roof having been destroyed in the fire.
