Mir Taqi Mir Poetry

Agra was the birthplace of Mir Taqi Mir, born on September 20, 1723. At that time, Agra was Called Akbarabad, ruled by the Mughals. He is known as Khuda-e-Sukhan (Father of Poetry). This poet from the 18th century wrote works that are still relevant today, ranging from cutting-edge socio-political commentary to human relations.

He is credited with giving shape to the Urdu language by writing Urdu poetry in Mughal India during the 18th century. The couplets and ghazals of Meer and Ghalib are among the most memorable in all of Urdu poetry and will always be considered among poetry lovers' favorite pieces. As one of the foremost poets of the Urdu ghazal from the Delhi School, he is often considered among the best poets of the Urdu language.

Mir Taqi Mir Personal life:

Originally from Hejaz, his grandfather moved to Hyderabad, then to Akbarabad or Agra. As a child, Mir Taqi Mir was greatly influenced by his father, Mir Abdullah. His father was a religious man with an enormous fan following. A constant emphasis on love and compassion was a significant influence on Mir's poetry throughout his life. It was due to the reason his father taught him to be like he was. Mir's father passed away while he was a teenager and left him some debt.

When his father died, they were so puny that he did not have the money for his funeral procession. His father's friend gave him 500 rupees to proceed with the funeral and pay the debts of his father he has left for him to clear. Following his father's death, Mir left Agra for Delhi to finish his education and find patrons who could afford his education and financial help.

Zikr-e-Mir, which details Mir's childhood and early days in Lucknow, is the primary source of information about his life. Although it presents material without any chronological order or dating, it has been criticized for concealing more than it reveals. The 'truth' about Mir's life remains obscure, so many of the details remain obscure.

Life:

The young shayar was enchanted by beauty in Agra. There is still mystery surrounding her name and provenance, but one thing is sure, the love was from both sides. The truth is that enmity and love cannot be hidden. As he mentioned in his poetry

“Ishq aur Mushq chupaaye Nahin chupte”.

People began to notice the relationship. Having been born into such a high clan, Meer was forbidden to fall in love with those of lesser clans. An affair with his lover brought him to dishonor and nothing else.

He became mentally ill as a result of childhood trauma and broken relationships. A beautiful apparition appeared to him at night. In such a situation, he would not be able to sleep. With each passing day, Meer would become more irrational as the apparition disappeared. His hand was full of stones, and he started chasing people. After becoming so sick, he was confined to chains.

After quite some time, he gained consciousness and then returned to his normal life with the help of his cousin.

Moghal Delhi was Mir's home for much of his life. The city at the time was Old Delhi, and there was Kuchha Chelan. Meer hasn't yet realized financial stability and peace of mind thanks to the provision. The raid by Nadir Shah on Delhi nearly a year ago left Meer's employer, Shams-ud-Daula, dead during the raid. Meer had been forced to live in poverty. Meer left Agra once again. These were some of the most painful times in Meer's life.

Career:

Mir lived in an era when Urdu literature and language were developing. As a native artist, Mir struck a balance between the indigenous and the Western aesthetic. Iranian imagery and idioms bring new enrichment to the translation. The Rekhta language is a new elite language commonly known as Hindi. He evolved a lyric language that is simple, natural, and elegant, built on his native Hindustani and infused with Persian expressions and diction. He is considered the father of modern poetry.

When he arrived at Delhi, Old Delhi, as it was then, the ruler's name was Moghal emperor Muhammad Shah. The proximity he gained from Amir-Ul-Umraa Shams-ud-Daula earned Meer Rs. 1 per day as patronage. In the meantime, he came back to Agra on this salary.

After Ahmad Shah Abdali sacked Delhi in 1748, he finally moved to Lucknow at the invitation of Asaf-ud-Daulah. After witnessing the destruction of Delhi, he poured out his sorrows through couplets.

Pen Name:

His original name is Muhammad Taqi. Mir was the pen name that made him Meer Taqi Meer.

Mir Taqi Mir Poetry:

Mir's writing is marked by a sense of pathos derived from the deaths of his family members, as well as earlier setbacks. He was noted for his poetry of pathos and melancholy. His Shayari illustrates misery, which distinguishes him from other shayars. Some people said Meer's Shayari was a form of pain expressed in 'aah'.

Unlike most people, Meer could not smile and laugh in jest, making it easier for him to get frustrated and even abusive. His Ghazals evoke melancholy based on the hardships of the poet's life.

His literary reputation largely consists of ghazals in the Kulliyat-e-Mir, most of which are based on love themes. His masnavi Mu'amlat-e-Ishq is perhaps the most famous romantic poem in Urdu literature. Kulliaat comprises six Diwans and 13,585 couplets, and his poetry comprises a variety of poetry from Meer, including Ghazal, masnavi, rubai, mustezaad, and satire.

Mir's two masnavis are regarded by some scholars. First-person accounts of Muamlat-e-Ishq and Khwab o Khyal-e Mir. Based on the early love affairs of Mir, this passion festering in a poet's mind and descent into madness is possibly autobiographical, but it is far from clear. Most critics agree that some of Meer's best couplets were written during those times of madness.

People who enjoy reading good poetry often turn to Mir Taqi Mir for Shayari and ghazals. Aap bey behrah hai jo muataqid-e-Mir nahi

Death:

An overdose of purgatives led to his death on 21 September 1810 in Lucknow. In life, as in death, he maintained no fixed address since the location of his burial has been obscured by the installation of rail tracks. When railway tracks were constructed over his grave during modern times, it is believed that the marker marking his burial place was removed. Cenotaphs were built near his actual burial place in the 1970s.
