Here is how you can join Pakistan Army as a Short Service Commissioned Officer:

Eligibility Criteria:

A very common question is What qualification is required for PMA short course? PMA Short Course 2020 consists of a variety of posts. Their respective qualifications are as follows:

• For General Duty Medical Officers (GDMOs) as Captains, MBBS or equivalent qualifications recognized by PM&DC are required
• For Classified Specialist (Specs) as Major, Higher Postgraduate qualification FCPS is also required along with MBBS. The relevant fields include:

• Anesthesiology
• Dermatology
• Gynecology
• Basic Medicine Sciences.

• Psychiatry
• Pediatrics
• For Sub Specialist (Medicine & Allied) as Major, the required qualifications are MBBS and additional FCPS in the required fields

• For General Duty Dental Officers (GDDOs) as Captains, BDS recognized by PM&DC and a one year experience is preferred

Selection Process:

To Join Pak Army As a Captain, you need to pass the following stages:

• Written / Intelligence / Personality Tests.

Professional Written tests for GDMOs, GDDOs, PTC, and Specialists based on multiple choice questions are conducted at AS&RCs.

• Preliminary Medical Tests.

Candidates undergo initial medical tests at AS&RCs.

• Further Selection.

Candidates who are selected by AS&RCs will be called for interview by GHQ Selection Board at Karachi, Lahore, and Rawalpindi. Medical examination of recommended candidates will be carried out at nearby CMHS. The final selection will be made at GHQ on the basis of candidates’ overall performance.

Training

Two types of training are conducted for PMA short course candidates:

• 22 weeks Basic Military Training (BMT) at AMC School & Centre, Abbottabad for male (GDMOs, GDDOs, and Specialists)
• 22 weeks of Basic Military Training (BMT) at AFPGMI Rawalpindi for females (GDMOs / Specialists).
