149,000 metric tons wheat to be procured from Faisalabad

Under the prescribed policy of Punjab government, 149,000 metric tons wheat will be procured in district Faisalabad by the Food department for which 13 procurement centers are working in different parts of the district.

FAISALABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Apr, 2018 ) :Under the prescribed policy of Punjab government, 149,000 metric tons wheat will be procured in district Faisalabad by the food department for which 13 procurement centers are working in different parts of the district.

Deputy Commissioner Salman Ghani visited the different procurement centers to check the arrangements for wheat farmers. Assistant Commissioner City Ahmar Suhail Kafi, AC Jaranwala Shehryar Arif, DFC Amanullah and other officers also accompanied him.

Deputy Commissioner went to wheat purchase center set-vi outside Jhang Bazar, Jhok Ditta, Rodala and Jaranwala City and check arrangements for the wheat procurement campaign. He observed the process of receiving applications from wheat growers for the issuance of bardana (gunny bags) to them according to the revenue record.

He also interacted with the farmers and inquired about the performance of the Food, Revenue and other departments. He assured them that all out facilities will be provided to them during the wheat procurement campaign.

He informed that center coordinators and center supervisors have been assigned tasks for the smooth running of the procurement centers and dispute redressal committees will be remained active for the removal of any complaint and objection of the farmers.

The Deputy Commissioner also inspected storage capacity at the centers and directed the staff for transparent wheat procurement process. He directed for maintaining necessary arrangements for the comfort of the farmers and said that cold drinking water, comfortable seating arrangements and other necessary facilities should be available all the time at the centers.

He advised for on spot inspections in case of missing of Gardawari of any applicant. He warned that no negligence and carelessness during the wheat procurement campaign would be tolerated. He directed the staff to perform their duties with dedication and passion to serve the farmers.

It was informed on the occasion that the applications from the farmers would be received by 20th of April for the bardana and the same would be scrutinized within two days. The data of the applications are being uploaded on the dash board of the Food department to make the all process of receiving applications transparent.
