MULTAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 25th May, 2018 ) :Chairman Multan Cattle Markets Management Company (MCMMC) Muhammad Ali Khokhar said on Friday that the company had ended the illegal practice of extortion at cattle markets and the situation was improving with each passing day.

Presiding over a meeting of MCMMC Board of Directors here, Khokhar said that PC-1 for establishment of a new cattle market had been approved and the facility would be a gift for the people of South Punjab.

Commissioner Multan division Bilal Ahmad Butt said that the administration would take swift action against elements managing illegal cattle markets and ordered for launching an action against those involved in selling fodder and husk without permission outside the cattle markets.

He ordered that police should remain alert at the cattle markets on Saturdays and Sundays to check illegal activities outside the cattle market.

Mayor Multan Naveedul Haq Arain said that illegal cattle markets and sale of fodder discouraged those who run their businesses after winning contracts from the administration and the company.

Managing Director Cattle Markets Dr Hammad Ali said that contracts for sale of fodder, ornamental articles for animals, food points and others had been given to successful parties to improve revenue for the company.

Moreover, facilities like mosque, waiting sheds, water tank, besides fodder and water for animals were being developed at temporary cattle markets. Assistant Commissioner Revenue Sheikh Mohsin and other members of the board attended the meeting.
