Drip Irrigation, Sprinkling Systems Being Installed

Director General Agriculture (Irrigation Reforms) Malik Muhammad Akram said that drip irrigation and sprinkling systems for irrigation were being installed on subsidy to control wastage of water under ongoing projects at a cost of Rs 67 billion.

MULTAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 11th Jun, 2018 ) :Director General Agriculture (Irrigation Reforms) Malik Muhammad Akram said that drip irrigation and sprinkling systems for irrigation were being installed on subsidy to control wastage of water under ongoing projects at a cost of Rs 67 billion.

He said that water courses were being concreted as its better way to control wastage of water.

He said the Punjab government was providing 60 percent subsidy on drip irrigation system while grower would bear other 40 percent expenses.

He informed that 50 percent fertilizer, labourer, time and water saved through this system. The water directly reached into the roots of saplings in drops through this system.

He further said that better use of available water was need of the hour and it was necessary to sensitize masses about water conservation through awareness drive, said a press release issuedhere on Sunday.
