Punjab Registers 134 Ostrich Farms In Last Two Years

Development of ostrich farming of Livestock Dairy Development, Punjab has registered 134 ostrich farms in the province, Parliamentary Secretary for Cabinet Secretariat Raja Javed Ikhlas told National Assembly
ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Feb, 2018 ) :Development of ostrich farming of Livestock Dairy Development, Punjab has registered 134 ostrich farms in the province, Parliamentary Secretary for Cabinet Secretariat Raja Javed Ikhlas told National Assembly.
Responding to the question of Ms Tahira Aurangzeb, he said Rs 10,000 is being provided on one ostrich by Punjab government.
As many as 54 ostrich farms had been registered during 2016-17 and 80 Ostrich farms during 2017-18 in Punjab.
Punjab Livestock Department has provided subsidy of Rs 14.5 million in 2016-17 and Rs 8.3473 million in 2017-18. He said Pakistan Ostrich Company (POC) has been established in the private sector.
POC imports, products, distributes, maintains and supplies ostrich chicks and grown up birds. POC is also offering professional advice and services in terms of technical assistance, medication for setting up of ostrich farming across Pakistan.
