Smart Phones Distributed Among Farmers

Under the E-Credit Scheme of CM Punjab Historical Kissan Package, farmers of Punjab province are being facilitated through provision of 3G and 4G enabled smart phones along with free SIM cards

FAISALABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th Feb, 2018 ) :Under the E-Credit Scheme of CM Punjab Historical Kissan Package, farmers of Punjab province are being facilitated through provision of 3g and 4g enabled smart phones along with free SIM cards.

They were also provided one GB monthly data bundles under connected agriculture platform Punjab program to improve their yield through easily accessible advisory of modern agriculture practice and improved access to experts and input provider.

Under this program, about 110,000 smart phones are being distributed throughout province in first phase and 30,000 smart phones would be distributed in Faisalabad division. The ceremony of distributing smart phones among the farmers of Faisalabad division was held at Director Agriculture office.

Director Agriculture Ch. Abdul Hameed distributed 10 smart phones among farmers of Tehsil Faisalabad. DD Agriculture Shabbir Afzal Warraich, AD Sobia Akram and others were also present. Director Agriculture informed that the purpose of providing the smart phones to farmers would be to provide them details regarding weather beforehand.

He said apps would help farmers interact with agriculture officials and experts for advice on improvement in crops. Farmers will be able to get weather updates, information about crop diseases and its solutions as well as information about every other typed farming.
