Spokesperson Rejects News As False About Underweight Wheat Bags Supply To GB

The Food Department Gilgit Baltistan has strongly rejected news item published in a section of media as baseless and pack of lies about supply of underweight wheat bags to the region by civil supply Islamabad.

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Oct, 2018 ) :The Food Department Gilgit Baltistan has strongly rejected news item published in a section of media as baseless and pack of lies about supply of underweight wheat bags to the region by civil supply Islamabad.

The spokesperson of the department said in a statement on Friday that digital weigh bridges had been installed at all bulk and sub base depots and the wheat consignment meant for supply to the Gilgit Baltistan was duly weighed, adding the same stock was weighed again upon arrival at depots at GB.

In a case of any disparity or variation in weight, the spokesperson maintained, fine for the shortage was registered in a contractor's voucher.

He added the fine was recovered at landed rate of the supply and deposited in national exchequer, adding the food department's staff was efficiently working day and night to ensure adequate stocks of wheat supply and disburse flour to masses in transparent manner.
