KHANEWAL, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Apr, 2019 ) : Standing wheat crop caught fire by flames from a nearby field where farmers had torched the remains of wheat crop at Chak 173/10-R, a suburban area of Khanewal on Monday.

Fire rescuers, however, sprung into action and put out the fire saving a major portion of the crop field.

The owner of the wheat field Iqbal said that they had set the remains of wheat crop on fire after harvesting a major part of his standing wheat crop. The flames, however, reached the nearby field, also owned by him, and triggered fire.

Rescue 1122 fire fighters were called and they extinguished the fire timely saving standing crop worth Lakhs of Rupees.
