108795 Taxable Units Served Property Tax Bills

Excise and Taxation (E&T) Multan served property tax bills to 108795 taxable units across the region till December 15.
An official source of Excise office Multan while talking to APP here on Monday said the government had announced 10 percent increase in property tax but also announced five percent rebate in property tax for tax payers, till December 31.
The official said that the property tax was being imposed on above five marla property, however, the five marla property being used in any commercial activity would also be charged property tax.
The Excise department has identified 163255 taxable units across the region, including 113025 in Multan district, 26187 in Vehari, 15071 in Khanewal and 8972 taxable units have been identified in district Lodhran.
The source said that data of taxable units had been collected from all districts and owners were being served property tax bills from December 1.
Excise department Punjab sent PT-10 forms to all districts and the prints of all PT-10 forms have been taken out by the offices across the region.
A special audit team from Lahore would reach Excise Office Multan for audit of 2017-18 in which the allegations regarding pending dues of five marla taxable units, tax exemption scheme for widows and all pending dues would be reviewed, it was learnt.
