MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 20th September, 2019) Abu Dhabi's Crown Prince Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan received US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Friday to discuss the fallout of the recent attack on Saudi oil installations and express solidarity with Riyadh, according to the UAE Foreign Ministry.
On Saturday, a drone attack on two Saudi oil facilities resulted in a more than twofold drop in the country's daily oil output. Although Yemen's Houthis claimed responsibility for the attack, the United States and Saudi Arabia have blamed Iran. Tehran has rejected the allegations. Soon after the attack, Pompeo departed for a diplomatic tour across the region, with the first stop in Riyadh.
"The UAE categorically rejects any attempts to undermine the Kingdom's security and stability and regards any threat to the Kingdom as a threat to international peace and security," Mohamed bin Zayed said at the talks with Pompeo, as quoted by the ministry.
The prince, who holds the post of a deputy supreme commander of the UAE Armed Forces, reaffirmed the Emirati support for Riyadh against all threats that undermine the regional stability.
The two also stressed the importance of US-UAE cooperation to maintain peace and security.
