China's new yuan loans fall in August

China's new yuan-denominated loans stood at 1.28 trillion yuan (about 186.4 billion U.S. dollars) in August, down from 1.45 trillion yuan in July, central bank data showed Wednesday.

The M2, a broad measure of money supply that covers cash in circulation and alldeposits, rose 8.

2 percent year on year to 178.87 trillion yuan at the end of August, thePeople's Bank of China, the country's central bank, said in a statement on its website.
