Competency-based Training, Evaluation System To Be Introduced: AGP

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Sep, 2016 ) : While taking cognizance of capacity development issues, Auditor-General of Pakistan, Rana Assad Ameen has directed to instill competency-based training and evaluation system in promotion process of Assistant Audit Officers (AAOs).

As a first step, PIPFA curricula for technical subjects would be reviewed by a Reviewer Committee designated by Pakistan Audit and Accounts academy to enhance professional skill of staff, set for departmental audit competency.

According to a statement issued here, after seeking input from selected reviewers of the Department, the revised draft would be presented to Pakistan Institute of Public Finance Accountants (PIPFA) for adoption.

Subsequently PIPFA training programs may be reviewed on the basis of revised curricula. This initiative is an integral part of AGP's reforms and is aimed at ensuring skills development in field audit offices for meeting latest audit standards which will ultimately result in better transparency and accountability.

The Auditor General has advised the committee to complete its task within three months. APP/asg/rn
