Comprehensive Armaments Afoot At Dry Port Sost: Senior Manager

Senior Manager Dry Port Sost, Colonel Basharat Khan Jadoon on Thursday said that strict measures had been made to ensure security in the dry port's premises to prevent items from being lost, besides facilitating traders' community
Talking to media persons, the senior official of the dry port said disappearance of containers like incident would not take place in future in view of those comprehensive and robust security measures.
As part of these arrangements, which had been taken in collaboration with customs officials, he added entry of irrelevant persons had been banned besides installation of closed circuit cameras (CCTV) and bringing improvement in handling of consignments.
He said that a facilitation centre had been set up for the traders and added those facilities were being provided in consultation with the NLC traders and the local community.
He said that port administration was also taking initiative for providing facilities to the local community and renovation was carried out of high school. He added that clean driving water also being supplied to the local area.
He said that traders' union had assured that full cooperation would be extended to the port administration for resolving problems.
He said that internet facility was available at the port and added that CPEC would give boost to export.
Thus in view of the CPEC, he underlined the need for expansion of the port to handle business activities more conveniently.
