This was stated by President board of Management Technical education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) Khawaja Muhammad Usman while talking to APP here. Pakistan's Furniture Industry is capable of enhancing not only GDP of country but also offers handsome return to skilled persons.
"We should try to enhance forests in the country so that raw woods could be obtained for making matchless furniture articles" stated Khawaja Usman. The local furniture industry is also facing shortage of carpenters to meet international demand, which is continuously on rise.
"We will have to import modern machinery for preparation of furniture," Khawaja Usman said and informed that Pakistan used to export furniture articles worth over 60 million dollars. The demand of furniture is 400 billion Dollars at international level.
