EC Says Ready to Offer Legal Aid to Gazprom, Naftogaz to Avoid Delay With Transit Deal

BRUSSELS (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 22nd January, 2019) European Commission Vice-President for Energy Union Maros Sefcovic told reporters on Monday that the European Commission was ready to provide legal assistance in settlement of disputes between Russia's Gazpom and Ukraine's Naftogaz to avoid delay in signing new gas transit contract.

"We also offer that we are ready to offer our legal assistance and legal expertise to make sure that we would not slow down the process on the new contract because of these legal complexities of the arbitration ruling," Sefcovic said after the trilateral gas transit consultations between Russia, Ukraine and the European Commission.
