E&T To Launch Recovery Drive Against Rozgar Scheme Defaulter Vehicles

The Excise and Taxation Department has decided to launch a vigorous recovery campaign against 8000 vehicles of Punjab Chief Minister's Rozgar Scheme in Gujranwala division
SIALKOT, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 15th Jan, 2018 ) :The Excise and Taxation Department has decided to launch a vigorous recovery campaign against 8000 vehicles of Punjab Chief Minister's Rozgar Scheme in Gujranwala division.
According to senior officials of the E&T department, the owners of 8000 vehicles are defaulter of Rs 20 million (in shape of token fee, professional and income taxes) for the last six years.
They added that the Punjab government had provided more than 10,000 such vehicles to unemployed people in the region six years ago through the Bank of Punjab (BoP) under the Punjab Chief Minister's Rozgar Scheme, but out of which 8000 vehicles are defaulters of Rs 20 million taxes as well.
The E&T department has formulated special recovery teams at Tehsil level. During this crackdown, the defaulter vehicles would be impounded and in the second phase the registration of these vehicles would be cancelled.
