France, Germany Must Protect Their Businesses From US Threats Over Cooperation with Iran

MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 18th October, 2018) The French and German governments can and should do everything to provide their businesses with alternative to cooperate with Tehran despite US threats of sanctions related to the Iran nuclear deal, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said.

"I heard that some European companies, including the French ones, have left Iran.

Our colleagues in Berlin and Paris, confirming the commitment of the governments of Germany and France to this [Iran nuclear] deal, say that they cannot force business to remain in Iran, if business has much more interest in the US. We understand this. However, the governments can and should do everything to provide businesses with an alternative," Lavrov said in an interview with RT France, Paris Match and Le Figaro.
