Gazprom Gas Exports To Ukraine Up 11.5% Year-on-Year To 1.756Bcm In Jan-Sept - Reports

Russian gas giant Gazprom increased gas exports to Ukraine by 11.5 percent year-on-year to 1.756 billion cubic meters in the first nine months of 2018, the company said in its report published on Wednesday.
In January-September 2017, Gazprom delivered 1.575 billion cubic meters of gas to Ukraine.
Ukraine's Naftogaz stopped purchasing gas from Russia on November 25, 2015. At the same time, the company stated that it had no debt to Gazprom for gas supplied to the countries southeastern territories that are not controlled by Kiev. Thus, it can be assumed that the gas supplied to Ukraine goes to Donbas.
Naftogaz's debt to Gazprom for gas supplied from 2013 through the first quarter of 2017 is $3.34 billion, according to Gazprom's first-quarter 2017 report. In the subsequent reports, Gazprom has not published this indicator.
Gazprom began direct deliveries to southeastern Ukraine in February 2015, after Naftogaz stopped gas supplies there, arguing that gas pipelines were destroyed due to hostilities. These deliveries are the subject of a implicit dispute: Gazprom believes that Naftogaz will eventually have to pay the bill for them, but Naftogaz, on the contrary, does not recognize these deliveries.
Gazprom stated that direct deliveries of Russian gas to southeastern Ukraine correspond to the contract with Naftogaz, so the Ukrainian state-owned company must pay for them. In late June 2016, Gazprom CEO Alexey Miller reported that the company delivered $718.5 million worth of gas to Ukraine's southeast, but the company has not presented this bill to Naftogaz in the Stockholm arbitration.
