GPI, Marble Industries Join Hands For Partnership

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 13th Aug, 2024) Government Polytechnic Institute (GPI) Mardan and marble industries of Mardan/Nowshera signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for the promotion of partnership in technical education in Mardan on Tuesday.

Special Assistant to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister on Industries, Commerce and Technical Education, Abdul Karim Tordher the was chief guest on the occasion. The agreement is being implemented under the auspices of the All Pakistan Marble Industries Association (APMIA) under the industry-academia linkages.

The MoU was signed by Muneebur Rahman on behalf of Mardan Small Industrial Estate and Shoaib Khan on behalf of Nowshera Economic Zone under which courses related to the marble sector will be started in the institute.

Speaking on the occasion, Abdul Karim Thordher described the partnership of technical educational institutions and local industries as vital for industrial development, saying it will provide better employment opportunities to the youth and skilled manpower for the industry respectively.

The principal of the institution Nsarullah Khan thanked the special assistant for leading this important initiative and participating in the event.

On this occasion, Managing Director of Small Industries Development Board, Habib Arif Assistant; Director Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA), Iqbal Khan; Shiraz Khan of KP-EZDMC, President Nowshera Economic Zone, Irfan Khan; Wasal Khan, Sher Mohammad Khan and Ejaz Bacha were also present.

The Principal Engineer Nasrullah Khan gave a detailed briefing about the ongoing courses in the institute and thanked the special assistant and other guests.
