Hong Kong stocks rose Thursday following a broadly positive lead from Wall Street and Europe, with traders welcoming data showing a huge jump in private US job creation last month, though mainland Chinese markets fell as they reopened after an extended holiday

Hong Kong (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 6th May, 2021 ) :Hong Kong stocks rose Thursday following a broadly positive lead from Wall Street and Europe, with traders welcoming data showing a huge jump in private US job creation last month, though mainland Chinese markets fell as they reopened after an extended holiday.

The Hang Seng Index added 0.77 percent, or 219.48 points, to 28,637.46.

The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index fell 0.16 percent, or 5.57 points, to 3,441.28, while the Shenzhen Composite Index on China's second exchange slipped 0.97 percent, or 22.35 points, to 2,276.58.
