Hong Kong stocks close up on US jobs data

HONG KONG,(UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News -5th Sep,2016) - Hong Kong stocks ended sharply higher Monday as a below-forecast jobs report dampened the prospects for a hike in US interest rates for the time being.

The Hang Seng Index added 1.65 percent, or 382.

85 points, to close at 23,649.55. The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index gained 0.15 percent, or 4.75 points, to 3,072.10 and the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, added 0.44 percent, or 8.81 points, to 2,018.10.
