Hong Kong stocks rose more than one percent in the opening minutes of Wednesday as the release on bail of a Huawei executive in Canada boosted hopes for China-US trade talks.

The Hang Seng Index rose 1.
09 percent, or 279.83 points, to 26,051.50.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index advanced 0.54 percent, or 14.02 points, to 2,608.11 and the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, gained 0.36 percent, or 4.87 points, to 1,348.77.
