DAVOS (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 24th January, 2019) Russia and Iraq have strong relations on economic level, and if Russian companies and investors want to enter the Iraqi market, they will be fully welcomed, Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs and Minister of Finance Fuad Hussein told Sputnik on Thursday.
"We have got a very strong relationship with Russia ... not only on political level, but also on economic level.
If Russian companies come to Iraq, of course, we will welcome it. I am not going to decide on it, it depends on the companies, their targets, and it depends on us. So we need some negotiation or discussion," Hussein said on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum, which is currently underway in the Swiss resort city of Davos.
As of last September, the Russian-Iraqi annual trade amounted to $1.4 billion, having surged by 52 percent over the past two years.
