Chairman of Amman Chamber of Commerce (ACC), Issa Murad, and the Bosnia and Herzegovina Ambassador to Jordan, Mato Zeko, Thursday agreed to exert more efforts to expand the economic ties between the two countries, which will reflect on joint flow of trade.
During the meeting at the ACC headquarters here, Murad said the Jordanian investments in Bosnia and Herzegovina are considered a "positive" sign in the bilateral cooperation.
Murad underscored the importance of reciprocal visits of trade delegations, and the need to organize work forums and fairs to showcase the economic opportunities in the two countries, adding the ACC is ready to offer facilitations in this regard. Figures of trade between the two countries indicate that trading is still" modest" and fall short of aspirations, Murad pointed out, calling out for signing a trade agreement or a preferential memorandum of understanding to enhance joint trade exchange.
The membership of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the European Union (EU) will bolster joint trade cooperation, especially that Jordan is a signatory of accords with a number of EU states that could serve the two countries' economic relations. For his part, Zeko lauded his country's distinguished political relations with the kingdom, expressing his hope to further enhance them in the economic aspects. The diplomat said his country will organize a Bosnian forum in mid-2019 in Jordan to contribute in developing the trade and investment ties.
