KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 28th Nov, 2016 ) : The President of Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI) Masood Naqi Monday urged quaters concerned to take steps to strengthen local industry by cutting down the cost of production.
Pakistani exporters were facing challenges due to increased cost of production, he said in a statement issued here. The KATI President recommended that the regulatory and custom duties on export-oriented raw material and machinery should be made zero-rated to minimise the cost of production.
He acknowledged the efforts of the Federal government under the leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif for overcoming the energy crisis in the country. "Industrial community of Pakistan is expecting cheaper rates of energy to compete with neighboring countries' industry," he asserted.
Masood Naqi said industrialists were expecting a very good package from the prime minister for the export-related sector, which include infrastructural development of industrial areas along with other measures and incentives.
