MINSK (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 23rd May, 2019) Kazakhstan is ready to deliver oil to Belarus but has to coordinate this plan with Russia, Kazakh Ambassador to Belarus Yermukhamet Yertysbayev said on Thursday.
"Just yesterday, Belarusian Ambassador to Kazakhstan [Anatoly] Nichkasov held very intense and important talks with the body in charge of oil and oil products deliveries, We are ready, there is absolutely no problem.
We have plenty of oil and oil products and we are ready to deliver them to Belarus," Yertysbayev said, as quoted by the Belarusian Belta news agency.
The diplomat stressed that Belarus and Kazakhstan would need Russian approval in order to sign a related agreement, because Kazakh oil would be transported to Belarus through a pipeline crossing Russian territory. Yertysbayev stressed that Russia was a strategic partner both for Kazakhstan and for Belarus and the countries would, therefore, seek a decision that would be acceptable for everybody.
