PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 8th Aug, 2024) The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has entered into an agreement on Thursday to sell the electricity generated from 2 hydropower projects of 12.8 megawatts built from its own resources with Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO).

In this regard, a ceremony was held in the Pakhtunkhwa Energy Development Organization (PEDO) House Peshawar regarding the sale of electricity generated by 10.2 MW of Jabori Hydro Power Plant in Mansehra District and 2.6 MW of Machai Hydro Power Plant in Mardan District to PESCO, in which Secretary Energy and Power Nisar Ahmad Khan, Chief Executive Officer (PEDO) Riaz Jan, CEO PESCO Engineer Akhtar Hameed, Chief Engineer Development Eng.

Habibullah Shah, Project Director Jabori Eng. Mustafa Kamal and other senior officials participated.

On this occasion, PEDO Engineer Jawad Haider and the representative of PESCO signed the agreement regarding the Power Acquisition Contract (PAC) of electricity, on behalf of their respective organizations.

Addressing the ceremony, Secretary Energy and Power Nisar Ahmad Khan termed the agreement a milestone for the development of the energy sector in the province and reiterated his commitment that in the coming days, agreements will be made for the sale of more completed electricity from PEDO. The province is expected to earn billions of rupees annually, he added.
