ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 09th Feb, 2018 ) : Adviser to Prime Minister on Finance, Miftah Ismail and World Bank (WB) Country Director Patchamuthu Illangovan discussed matters of bilateral interests during a meeting here Friday. Mr.
Illangovan apprised the Advisor of the various recent initiatives of the World Bank and discussed the up-coming projects likely to be implemented in the near future. The Country Director reiterated the World Bank’s resolve to keep up support for continuing the process of reforms by the government of Pakistan which in the last four and half years had greatly helped the country achieve macro-economic stability.
He also shared with the Adviser details about Agreements worth US$305.0 million recently signed with the World Bank to support projects in agriculture sector in Punjab and to improve the nutrition status of children as well as women in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Adviser to PM Miftah Ismail appreciated World Bank for extending its continuous support to the Government of Pakistan in its efforts to achieve sustainable economic development in the country. Secretary Finance also participated in the meeting.
