Nasdaq opens down 2.6% as Amazon, Google/Alphabet tumble

The Nasdaq tumbled in opening trading Friday as US stocks resumed their downward slide following disappointing earnings announcements from Amazon and Google-parent Alphabet.

New York, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 26th Oct, 2018 ) :The Nasdaq tumbled in opening trading Friday as US stocks resumed their downward slide following disappointing earnings announcements from Amazon and Google-parent Alphabet.

The tech-rich Nasdaq Composite Index was down 2.6 percent at the opening bell at 7,125.18.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 0.9 percent to 24,770.25, while the broad-based S&P 500 shed 1.4 percent to 2,667.86.
