Nigerian High Commissioners for establishing strong trade ties between Pakistan and Nigeria

High Commissioner of Nigeria in Pakistan Maj-Gen (Rtd) Ashimiyu A. Olaniyi Oon Mini has underlined the need for establishing strong trade ties between the businessmen of Nigeria and Pakistan.

SIALKOT, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 17th Oct, 2018 ) :High Commissioner of Nigeria in Pakistan Maj-Gen (Rtd) Ashimiyu A. Olaniyi Oon Mini has underlined the need for establishing strong trade ties between the businessmen of Nigeria and Pakistan.

He further said that the time was ripe for both of the countries to take advantages of the two-way trade between the two brotherly countries.

He stated this while discussing in details the matters of mutual interest with Sialkot exporters during an important meeting held at Sialkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) here on Wednesday.

SCCI President Khawaja Masud Akhtar presided over the meeting. SCCI SVP Waqas Akram Awan, Vice President Aamir Hameed Bhatti and Pakistan Gloves Industry's Leader Muhammad Younas were also present on this occasion.

Nigerian High Commissioner added that there were bright opportunities to establish joint ventures with Pakistan in textile, surgical, sports goods, gloves and other sectors. He said that several Nigerian companies were showing keen interest, in this regard.

He said that Pakistan was reliable trade partner of Nigeria due to which Nigeria was considering to increase mutual trade volume between Pakistan and Nigeria.

Nigerian High Commissioner assured the local exporters' easy access to international trade markets of Nigeria, asking the Sialkot based exporters to divert their business activities to Nigeria.

He said that Sialkot's exporters must focus on diverting their business activities to Nigeria to take the complete trade and export-related benefits in Nigeria, saying that it was high time to develop Business-to-Business contacts between Pakistan and Nigeria.

He stressed the need of making all out sincere efforts to develop strengthened mutual trade ties between Pakistan and Nigeria, besides, assuring the regular exchange of mutual trade delegations and sharing the updated trade information about Nigerian trade between the two countries.

SCCI President Khawaja Masud Akhtar and SCCI SVP Waqas Akram Awan also spoke on the occasion.

Earlier, the Nigerian High Commissioner Maj-Gen (Rtd) Ashimiyu A. Olaniyi Oon Mini also visited several leading industrial units in the city. He took keen interest in the several processes of production of sports goods and surgical instruments.

He said that Nigeria and other African countries could be a main market of Sialkot-made sports goods, surgical instruments, gloves, musical instruments and other export products.
