Chair of the Polish Financial Oversight Commission (PFOC) Marek Chrzanowski was accused of corruption by businessman Leszek Czarnecki, local media reported Tuesday.

WARSAW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 13th November, 2018) Chair of the Polish Financial Oversight Commission (PFOC) Marek Chrzanowski was accused of corruption by businessman Leszek Czarnecki, local media reported Tuesday.

Chrzanowski allegedly offered Getin Noble Bank shareholder Czarnecki to employ lawyer Grzegorz Kowalczyk, paying him some $10.

5 million, in exchange for patronage for Czarnecki's bank, according to the Gazeta Wyborcza newspaper.

In turn, the bank owner recorded the offer of Chrzanowski and sent the file to the prosecutors.

Later, media reported that Chrzanowski resigned from his post.
