Road Checking Campaign Against Motor Tax Evadors From Sept 20

KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News -19th Sept,2016) : The road checking campaign to nab the vehicles'tax defaulters in the metropolis will be launched from September 20. The campaign is being launched on the directives of Sindh Minister for Excise and Taxation Mukesh Kumar Chawla, said a statement on Monday.
While finalizing the arrangements for the drive, the Minister has directed the officers concerned not to bear any kind of pressure in this regard and take appropriate measures against tax defaulters according to law and bring all tax defaulters under the tax net.
He further directed them to remain polite during the Road Checking Campaign and no road should be blocked and the traffic flow not to be hampered. The Minister asked the officers concerned to wear uniform during the launch and he would himself pay visits different spots to monitor the performance of the checking teams and would take immediate action on the spot if he found anyone showing negligence.
He said that vehicle tax collection is an important feature of E&T department and we are supposed to meet the target. The Minister has directed the officers concerned to submit their daily performance reports to the officers concerned and advised the owners/ drivers of the vehicles to keep complete documents and deposit their taxes.
He said that on non-payment the tax defaulted vehicles would be confiscated and would release after payment of due taxes and penalties as well. APP/ars/msk/ahn
