Russia hopes to strengthen ties with Vietnam in the oil and gas sector, and favorable conditions will be created for new projects in this area, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said on Monday.

HANOI (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 19th November, 2018) Russia hopes to strengthen ties with Vietnam in the oil and gas sector, and favorable conditions will be created for new projects in this area, Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said on Monday.

"I would like to mention the cooperation between Russian and Vietnamese energy companies. We hope that these ties will be strengthened.

To this end, we will create favorable conditions for the implementation of joint projects, and new projects with the participation of Gazprom, Rosneft, Zarubezhneft, Petrovietnam and other companies," Medvedev said following the talks with Vietnamese Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc in Hanoi.

On Sunday, Medvedev arrived in Vietnam for a two-day official visit. The Russian delegation is in the country to discuss trade, investment, industry, and energy cooperation with Vietnamese counterparts.
