Russia-Italy Trade Up 5% Year-on-Year in January-August - Minister

Trade between Russia and Italy has exceeded 20 billion euros ($22.6 billion), growing by 5 percent year-on-year within the first eight months of this year, Italian Foreign Minister Enzo Moavero Milanesi said Monday.

ROME (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 17th December, 2018) Trade between Russia and Italy has exceeded 20 billion Euros ($22.6 billion), growing by 5 percent year-on-year within the first eight months of this year, Italian Foreign Minister Enzo Moavero Milanesi said Monday.

"The mutual [trade] exchange between Italy and Russia this year exceeded 20 billion euros. Italy's exports amounted to over 8 billion [euro], imports to Italy from Russia reached nearly 12 billion [euro] ... This is a very fruitful and dynamic exchange, the data for the first eight months of 2018 show an increase of 5 percent," Milanesi said at a session of the Russian-Italian Council for Economic, Industrial, Monetary and Financial Cooperation.

Milanesi also noted the growth of mutual investments in various fields.

The Russian-Italian council seeks to promote the development of bilateral economic relations between Moscow and Rome as well as to mutually facilitate business activities on the two states' territories.
