Russian oil company Gazprom Neft is planning to participate in the project on studying the reserves potential of Sudan's continental shelf in the Red Sea, according to the protocol of the Russian-Sudanese intergovernmental commission obtained by Sputnik.

"The parties welcome the agreement between Gazprom Neft and the Sudanese state oil corporation on researching geological potential of Block 13 of the Red Sea," the document read.
