SAARC CCI Re-elects Iftikhar Ali Malik As Its Vice President

South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SAARC CCI) has unanimously re-elected Iftikhar Ali Malik as Vice President of SAARC CCCI for sixth consecutive two-year term
ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Jan, 2018 ) :South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SAARC CCI) has unanimously re-elected Iftikhar Ali Malik as Vice President of SAARC CCCI for sixth consecutive two-year term.
According to a press release issued here Saturday, SAARC General Assembly and executive committee members from India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Nepal, Afghanistan and Maldives unanimously re-elected him as Vice President of SAARC CCI.
Besides, it said that the members have also expressed the hope that Mr Malik would strive for strengthening of economy, besides welfare and betterment of the business community and corporate social sector in the region.
It may be recalled that Iftikhar Malik had also held the offices of the Presidents Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) and the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) besides founder President Pak US Business Council.
In his statement, Iftikhar Ali Malik reiterated his solemn pledge to continue for greater economic integration by fully exploiting all indigenous natural resources for the progress, prosperity, development and welfare of the people, mainly aimed at doing away with abject poverty in South Asia.
He said that SAARC should be more active to address major challenges the region faces - job creation for the youth of South Asia - our region's biggest asset and alleviation of poverty. He said South Asia comprises three per cent of the world's area, 21 per cent of the world's population and 3.8 per cent (US$ 2.9 trillion) of the global economy.
The respective governments are trying to give its people a much higher quality of life, he said Iftikhar Malik said that businessmen of the region are working for integrated, progressive and prosperous South Asia.
The areas of focus include attracting intra-regional investment, industrialization of South Asia via embodying SAARC Investment Parks, nourishing and nurturing the Small and Medium Enterprises and to mentor upcoming entrepreneurs across the region, he remarked.
