BAKU (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 17th March, 2019) Saudi Energy Minister Khalid Falih said on Sunday that he was positive about the effect that the oil production cut deal reached by members of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) and non-cartel producers has had on the oil market.
"Meetings will be held tomorrow, I am optimistic about the influence of the OPEC-non-OPEC deal on the oil market.
We have discussed this with the Azerbaijani energy minister," Falih said.
On Sunday, the Azerbaijani capital hosts a meeting of the Joint Technical Committee of OPEC and non-OPEC experts. The Joint Ministerial Monitoring Committee will convene in Baku on March 18. Before the official event, ministers traditionally hold bilateral meetings and have an unofficial dinner, where they continue to address the oil agreement.
