Sberbank Most Valuable Russian Brand In Brand Finance's 2019 Global 500 Ranking

Sberbank, Russia's largest bank, once again has been recognized as the most valuable Russian brand in 2019 by the Brand Finance Global 500 ranking, released on Tuesday as the World Economic Forum (WEF) begins in the Swiss city of Davos

MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 22nd January, 2019) Sberbank, Russia's largest bank, once again has been recognized as the most valuable Russian brand in 2019 by the Brand Finance Global 500 ranking, released on Tuesday as the World Economic Forum (WEF) begins in the Swiss city of Davos.

Sberbank now sits in 139th place in the rating, a 10-point decrease from the previous year.

The bank's CEO, Herman Gref, was ranked 69th in the Brand Guardianship Index 2019, the ranking read.

At the same time, Russian energy giant Gazprom climbed 75 positions and is now in 242nd place. Lukoil went up by 11 points to 356th place, according to the ranking.

Tech giants Amazon, Apple and Google retained their leadership as the world's most valuable brands.

Brand Finance determines the strength of a brand through a set of metrics evaluating business performance, customer loyalty, marketing investments and other criteria.
