Shipping Activity At Port Qasim 10 April 2018

KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 10th Apr, 2018 ) :Eight ships, MSC Maria Laura, MSC Al-Ghero, X-Press Kailash, BBC Arica, Azizi, Corona, Al-Gharrfara and Interpit Republic carrying Containers, General Cargo, Coal, Palm oil, LNG and Chemicals took berths at Qasim International Container Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal, Port Qasim Electric Power Terminal, Liquid Cargo Terminal, Engro Elengy Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal respectively during last 24 hours, said a report issued by Port Qasim Authority (PQA) on Tuesday. Meanwhile three more ships, Bustan Trader, Mehun and Sea Fortune carrying Containers and General Cargo also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours. A total of ten ships namely, MSC Maria Laura, MSC Al-Ghero, X-Press Kailash, BBC Arica, Pacific Talent, Iris-T, Azizi, Interpit Republic, Al-Gharrfara and Corona are currently occupying PQA berths to load/offload Containers, General Cargo, Canola Seeds, Coal, Chemicals, LNG and Palm oil respectively.
Cargo throughput during last 24 hours stood at 156,404 tonnes, comprising 126,213 tonnes import cargo and 30,191 tonnes export cargo inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 4,146 Containers (TEUs), (2,557 TEUs imports and 1,589 TEUs exports) was handled at the Port. Two ships, Iris-T and Interpit Republic sailed out to sea on Tuesday morning, while three more ships MSC Maria Laura, X-Press Kailash and BBC Africa are expected to sail on same day in the afternoon. Six ships, Northern Monument, Mehun, Busan Trader, Ruby Star, Sea Fortune and Thomson Gas carrying Containers, Soya Bean Seeds, General Cargo and LPG are expected to take berths at QICT, FAP, MW-2 and EVTL respectively on Tuesday.
