KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Sep, 2021 ) :Four ships, MOL Genesis, Kenan, Nasco Pearl and Apollo arrived at Port Qasim on Wednesday, carrying Containers, Coal and Palm took berths at Qasim International Container Terminal, Port Qasim Electric Terminal, Pakistan International Bulk Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively. Meanwhile two more ships, Tiger Glory and Pacific Nafsika carrying Palm oil and Mogas also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the same day.
High side berth occupancy was reported for second consecutive at the port where a total 15 ships were engaged during last 24 hours, out of them, three ships, Maersk Chicago, Kita and Al-Aamriya sailed on Thursday morning, while six more ships, MOL Genesis, MSC Esthi, MSC Paula, PS Milano, Efrossini and Gas Ionian are expected to sail in the afternoon.
Cargo handling remained upward trend at the port on Wednesday where a cargo volume of 284,029 tonnes comprising 165,547 tonnes imports cargo and 118,482 tonnes export cargo, including containerized cargo carried in 5,884 Containers (2,443 TEUs Imports and 3,441 TEUs export), was handled at the port during last 24 hours.
Three ships, Maersk Nile, Urliken and Jag Aabha carrying Containers, Phosphoric Acid and Mogas are expected to take berths at Container Terminal, Chemicals Terminal and Oil Terminal respectively on Wednesday, while another container ship 'Spirit of Kolkata' is due to arrive at Port Qasim on same day, and 'MOL Generosity' is due to arrive on Friday.
