Shipping Activity At Port Qasim

KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News -8th Sept,2016) : Four ships M.V Bao Tong, M.T White Furl and M.T Gas Lion carrying coal and LPG were allotted berths at Multi Purpose Terminal, ENGRO Terminal and SSGC Terminal respectively on Wednesday.

Meanwhile three more ships C.V Mehun, M.T Svarna Kaeri and M.T Geniue with containers, diesel oil and furnace oil also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours. Berth occupancy was managed at forty seven percent at the port on wednesday where a total of seven berths were engaged by ships namely C.V CMA CGM Thames, C.V Maersk Kinloss, M.V Bao Tong, M.V Mu Dan Song, M.T White Purl, M.T Gas Lion and M.T Karachi to load/offload containers, coal, general cargo, LPG and furnace oil respectively during last 24 hours.

Cargo throughput during last 24 hours stood at 94,266 tonnes, comprising 63,068 tonnes import cargo and 31,198 tonnes export cargo inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 1,872 containers (TEUs)(230 imports TUEs & 1,642 TUEs exports) was handled at the prot.

Two ships, C.V CMA CGM Thames and M.T Karachi sailed out to seas on Thursday, while two more ship M.T Gas Lion and M.V Mu Dan Song are expected to sail on same day afternoon. Three hips C.V Mehun, M.V Tian Shan and M.T Genie carrying containers, project cargo and furnace oil are expected to take berths at container Terminal, multi Purpose Terminal FOTCO Terminal respectively on Thursday.
