Shipping Activity At Port Qasim

KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 22nd Sep, 2016 ) : Five ships C.V Maersk Stepnica, M.V Favourisation, M.T Liberty-N, M.T Tomson Gas and M.T ridge Bury Rose Mary carrying containers, project cargo, LPG and diesel oil took berths at Qasim International Container Terminal, Multi-purpose Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal, SSGC Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively, on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, three more ships C.V CMA CGM Maupassant, M.T Ikan Bawal and M.T Seleine with containers, soya bean seeds and diesel oil also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.
Berth occupancy was observed at the port at 53% on Wednesday where a total of eight berths were engaged by ships namely C.V Maersk Stepnica, C.V CMA CGM Uruguay, M.V Johar Express, M.V Favourisation, M.V Tian Fu, M.V KSL Chaoyan, M.T Bunga Angsana, M.T Liberty-N, M.T Tomson Gas and M.T Ridge Bury Rose Mary, M.T Umm Bab and M.T Gas Lion to load/offload containers, cement, general cargo, LPG and diesel oil respectively during last 24 hours.
Cargo during last 24 hours stood at 90,685 tonnes, comprising 51,023 tonnes import cargo and 39,662 tonnes export cargo inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 3,218 containers (TEUs)(1,300 imports TUEs & 1,918 TUEs exports) was handled at the port.
Container vessel CMA CGM Uruguay sailed out to sea on Thursday morning while five more ships, C.V Maersk Stepnica, M.V Favourisation, M.V Tian Fu, M.T Liberty-N and M.T Ridge Bury Rose Mary are expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
Four ships C.V CMA CGM Maupassant, M.V Diyaab, M.V Ikan Bawal and M.T Argent Bloom scheduled to load/offload containers, cement, soyabean seeds and chemicals are expected to take berths at Container Terminal, Multi-purpose Terminal, Grain & Fertilizer Terminal and Engro Terminal respectively on Thursday.
While, two more container vessels CSAV Toconao and Uni Florida are due to arrive at Port Qasim on Friday.
