Shipping Activity At Port Qasim

KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 14th Nov, 2018 ) :Five ships-- APL Miami, MSC Heidi, Maersk Kensington, IVS Swinley Forest and Trinity Glory carrying Containers, LNG and Coal were arranged berthing at Qasim International Container Terminal, Port Qasim Electric Power Terminal and Pakistan Gasport Consortium Terminal respectively on Tuesday.
Meanwhile another ship, Umm Al-Amad carrying 62,177 tonnes LNG also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim on Wednesday morning, Gas carrier White Purl shifted to SSGC Terminal to Engro Terminal on same day, a report issued by PQ Authority said here on Wednesday.
A total of eleven ships are currently occupying PQA berths to load/offload Containers, Coal, Canola seeds, Chemicals, General cargo, LPG, LNG, Palm oil and Diesel oil respectively, Out of eleven, six ships namely, New Legend, Maritime Jingan, MSC Heidi, Sheila, Zefyros and white Purl sailed out to sea on Wednesday morning, and another containers ship Maersk Kensington is expected to sail at night hours.
Cargo throughput during last 24 hours stood at 186,220 tonnes, comprising 164,674 tonnes imports cargo and 21,546 tonnes export cargo, inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 4,784 Containers (TEUs), (3,650 TEUs imports and 1,134 TEUs exports) was handled at the Port.
Four ships, Northern Dedication, Umm Al-Amad, Horizon and Glorious carrying Containers, LNG, Palm oil and Diesel oil are expected to take berths at QICT, EETL, LCT and FOTCO respectively on Wednesday, while two more container ships MOL Courage and MaerskBentonville are due to arrive at Port Qasim on Thursday.
