Shipping Activity At Port Qasim

KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 05th Jan, 2017 ) : Two ships C.V Maersk Stepnica and M.T Elka Delphi containers and 35,707 tonnes diesel oil were arranged berthing at Qasim International Container Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, five more ships CMA CGM Corneille, MSC Asya, AL-Soor-II BBC Ohio and Liberty-N with containers, diesel oil, project cargo and LPG also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.
Berth Y occupancy was managed at the Port at 53% on Wednesday where a total of eight ships namely Maersk Stepnica, MSC Silvana, Mariman, Glory Navigator, Atlantic Glory, Umm Bab, Bochem Chennani and Elka Delphi are currently occupying berths to load/offload during last 24 hours.
A cargo volume of 139,206 tonnes, comprising 99, 780 tonnes import cargo and 39,426 tonnes export cargo inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 3,872 containers TEUs (1,858 imports TUEs & 2,014 TUEs exports) was handled at the Port during last 24 hours.
Two ships, MSC Silvana and Mariman sailed out to sea on Thursday morning, while two more ships Umm Bab and Atlantic Glory are expected to sail on same day afternoon. Four ships CMA CGM Corneile, MSC Asya, Happy Penguin and Amoy MW- 2 respectively on Thursday, 5th January, while two more ships E.R Tianping and Maersk Innoshima are due to arrive at Port Qasim on Friday, 6th January-2017.
