Shipping Activity At Port Qasim

KARACHI, Jan 6 (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 06th Jan, 2017 ) : Shipping activity remained active at the Port where four ships CMA CGM Corneille, MSC Asya, Happy Penguin and Amoy Action carrying containers, chemicals and coal oil were allotted berths at Qasim International Container Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal and Multi Purpose Terminal respectively on Thursday.
Meanwhile five more ships E.R Tianping, Grand Ace-6, Kaimon Galaxy, Pacific Energy and Jipro Neptis with containers, palm oil, chemicals and furnace oil also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.
Berth occupancy was observed at fifty three percent at the Port on Thursday where a total of eight ships namely CMA CGM Corneille, MSC Asya, Maersk Steonica, Amoy Action, Glory Navigator, Happy Penguin, Bochem Chennani and Elka Delphi are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, rice, chemicals, canola seeds, LPG, LNG, palm oil and disesel oil respectively during last 24 hours.
A cargo volume of 143,044 tonnes, comprising 99,797 tonnes import cargo and 43,073 tonnes export cargo inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 4,965 containers TEUs (2,698 imports TUEs & 2,267 TUEs exports) was handled at the Port during last 24 hours.
Four ships, MSC Asya, Action, Bochem Chennani and Elka Delphi sailed out to sea on Friday morning, while another ship Happy Penguin is expected to sail on same day afternoon. Five ships E.R Tlanping, BBC Ohio, Bunga Allium, Al-Soor-II and Jipro Neptis carrying EVTL and FOTCO respectively on Friday, 6th January, while five more ships Maersk Innoshima, Nicoline Maerskm, MSC Federica, han Hui and Fareast Honesty are due to arrive at Port Qasim on Saturday, 7th January and MSC Asya and Libelia are dure to arrive on Sunday-8th January-2017.
