MOSCOW (UrduPoint News / Sputnik - 23rd May, 2019) US company Bradford Exchange, which produces souvenir goods, has issued a commemorative coin depicting the flags of some of the World War II Allies ahead the upcoming 75th anniversary of the end of the war but did not include the flag of the Soviet Union, which helped bring about the downfall of Nazi Germany.

"The obverse sides showcase the flags of the Allied nations United States, Great Britain and France in full color, plus a special 75th Anniversary privy mark and the dates of the anniversary," the description of the coin, published on the official website of the company, said.

The company refused to give any additional comments to Sputnik regarding the coin, saying that all relevant information was available on the website.

The Soviet Union was one of the major Allied powers alongside France, the United Kingdom and the United States. The Soviet forces fought against the Nazis from their invasion of the Soviet Union in 1941 until their ultimate defeat in May 1945. It was in the Soviet Union's Stalingrad in 1943 that the Nazis suffered one of their most crushing defeats, which is considered a turning point in World War II. It is estimated that 27 million Soviet lives were lost during the war.
