Tokyo Stocks Down By Break As Strong Yen Hits Exporters

TOKYO, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 10th Augst,2016) - Tokyo stocks slipped in low-volume trading Wednesday morning ahead of a public holiday with the stronger Yen taking the wind out of exporters including Toyota and cosmetics maker Shiseido. The benchmark Nikkei 225 index fell 0.29 percent, or 48.39 points, to 16,716.58 by the break, while the broader Topix index of all first-section shares was down 0.41 percent, or 5.38 points, at 1,312.11.
